PURPOSE
Asynchronous Transfer Mode
is now past the introductory phase and implementers are discovering where ATM’s
real strengths and weaknesses lie. It is no longer hailed as the panacea
of networking. Rather it is finding its place as a backbone technology that
offers scaleable bandwidth and flexible configuration. This course has been
developed to provide a realistic and detailed look at what ATM has to offer and
to answer questions regarding its implementation and use.
